DYNASTS OF LYCIA. Perikles, circa 380-360 BC. Obol (Silver, 10 mm, 0.63 g, 3 h), uncertain mint. Draped bust of Athena facing slightly to left, wearing triple-crested Corinthian helmet. Rev. Draped and bearded bust of Perikles (?) facing slightly to left. Mildenberg, Mithrapata & Perikles, -. Müseler VIII, 41 corr. (same obverse die, but misdescribed as Hermes) = Winzer 27.2. Of the highest rarity, apparently the second known example. Numerous light scratches and the oberse struck from a slightly worn die and with minor traces of corrosion, otherwise, good very fine.
